Last night I visited one of our local garden center, W&W in Hudsonville Michigan, in search of the perfect plants for my hanging basket. The first thing I did was walk up and down the aisles to check out the plants they carried. It was hard to stick to looking for plants for my hanging baskets, everything looked gorgeous!
I finally decided on Setcreasea p. ‘Purple Heart’ (Purple Heart or Purple Queen) and a Petunia from proven winners, Suptertunia Citrus™. I haven’t bought the hanging basket yet, so I arranged them in my yard like I would in the basket.

On my last trip to Mexico the resort I stayed at had rows of ‘Purple Heart’ lining the sidewalks around the resort. I feel in love with this plant then, it has such a lovely shade of purple. I thought the citrus yellow and white complimented it well. Hopefully it looks as great in the hanging basket as I think it will!

I love that purple heart. It comes back stronger every year here in my SC garden. Has tiny little pink flowers later in the summer.
A tiny pink flower just bloomed this weekend! The pink compliments the purple foliage color well.
